MotoGP Emilia Romagna: Moto2: Enea Bastianini wins a rain interrupted race – Full results
Enea Bastianini dominated the Moto2 race to slash the Moto2 title lead down to just 5 points.
It was a race interrupted by rain which gave us the opportunity to see how riders perform under pressure in a 10 lap sprint race, rider such as Marcel Schrotter and Xavi Vierge were scrapping at the front with Vierge looking incredibly strong, running in a consistent second place for most of the race until contact with Schrotter put an end to the fun.
Sam Lowes had great pace today, regularly lapping 0.7 seconds faster than race leader Enea Bastianini with Lowes and Marco Bezzecchi both putting in a charge to catch Bastianini, however, the race did not have enough laps, not to mention Bastianini managing to run his own race with consistent pace, allowing for an extra 5-10% if he needed to apply it to maintain his lead.
Jake Dixon had the ride of his life, the British rider who is in his second Moto2 season took his best result of sixth place today after dropping back to P12, he then overtook rider after rider in a fantastic show of race pace to cross the line in P6 overall, beating much more experienced riders such as Jorge Navarro and Fabio Di Giannantonio.
