Jack Miller officially signs with Pramac for 2025 MotoGP Season
Australian Jack Miller has officially signed with Pramac for the 2025 MotoGP season, with Miller switching from the Factory KTM team.
Miller has endured a relatively difficult MotoGP career in the premier class, with many earlier in the 2024 season claiming that he would even leave MotoGP entirely, to join the World Superbike Championship. However, despite some lacklustre performances from the Aussie over the last few seasons, Pramac have decided to sign the four-time Grand Prix winner.
“Thriller Miller” will return to the Pramac team after initially leaving them for the Factory Ducati squad back in 2020. However, the Pramac squad will look entirely different, as Pramac will no longer use Ducati machinery, instead becoming the main satellite team for Yamaha. Alongside Miller, Miguel Oliveira will also ride for Pramac next season, meaning an entirely new lineup for Pramac, in what seems to be a team reset.
At Pramac, both Oliveira and Miller will receive factory assistance from Yamaha, and will both be riding on a 2025 spec YZR-M1. Pramac’s offer to Miller appears as the Australian’s final option to stay on the MotoGP grid, with Miller revealing earlier this season that he allegedly hadn’t received any phone calls or offers from any team on the MotoGP or WSBK grid.
It looked bleak for Miller’s career earlier in the season, after taking just one podium in the 2023 season, and still yet to score a podium finish this season, there was much speculation on the Red Bull Factory KTM rider’s future within the team, particularly with rookie Pedro Acosta impressing many throughout the paddock with multiple podiums on the Red Bull GasGas KTM satellite machine.
However, with Miller signing for Pramac, it ensures that the team has an experienced and relatively fast rider on the team who may be able to assist Yamaha in returning to the front of the grid. With Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins currently riding for the Factory Yamaha team, there may be a future opportunity for both Miller and Oliveira at the Factory squad, if they outperform the Japanese team and score consistent points.
MotoGP returns to Misano this weekend in a crucial round for the 2024 championship.
