Miguel Oliveira signs with Pramac Yamaha for 2025 MotoGP season

Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira has signed with Prima Pramac for 2025, with the team becoming a Yamaha satellite team and refreshing their entire rider lineup.

Miguel Oliveira will officially join the Prima Pramac squad for 2025, therefore racing with Yamaha machinery, after a brief two-year stint at the Aprilia satellite team, Trackhouse Racing.

Oliveira has had an impressive career so far in MotoGP, taking five Grand Prix victories whilst riding with Tech3 KTM and the Red Bull Factory KTM squad. However, after joining RNF Aprilia in 2023, which would then become the current Trackhouse Aprilia team – Oliveira would score a best result of 4th place at the British Grand Prix in 2023.

Oliveira has however, retired from 10 Grands Prix over the last two seasons with the satellite Aprilia team, and retired from 11 Grands Prix whilst racing over four seasons with KTM.

With the Portuguese rider a proven race winner, eventually racing towards the back of the grid evidently took its’ toll on Oliveira, who will now move to the Prima Pramac Yamaha team in 2025.

The Prima Pramac team announced earlier this year, that they will become the Yamaha satellite team, and therefore will no longer race with Ducati machinery, that has seen them previously challenge for the 2023 and 2024 World Championships with Jorge Martin. Martin announced his move to the Factory Aprilia team, with current Pramac teammate Franco Morbidelli joining the VR46 Team, who will become the Ducati satellite squad in 2025.

With Oliveira announced, Pramac-Yamaha have their first rider for next season, with current rumours swirling that they will sign Jack Miller in due course.

MotoGP returns this weekend for the San Marino Grand Prix at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
