Jorge Martin Secures Sachsenring Sprint Victory, Oliveira Gets Podium for Aprilia

Jorge Martin Won the German Sprint Race at the Sachsenring, beating Francesco Bagnaia and extending his championship lead to 15 points.

Francesco Bagnaia would dive to the inside of Jorge Martin and Miguel Oliveira as the pair ran deep into the first corner, Bagnaia managed to get his Ducati underneath the pair and seized the lead of the race on the exit of the first corner, with Oliveira in second.

Just one lap later, Martin would draw alongside Oliveira’s Trackhouse Aprilia, managing to get it stopped on the apex and finalising his move for second. One lap later, Martin would slip up the inside of Bagnaia at the triple left-hander at Turn 9 with an extraordinary move through the high-speed triple left-hander.

Just half a second behind the leading trio, Maverick Vinales would put his Aprilia in front of Raul Fernandez’s Trackhouse Aprilia, Fernandez running deep as Enea Bastianini came through on the pair of them within a few corners. Franco Morbidelli would then make his way past Fernandez at the final corner for sixth place in the first third of the race, with Marc Marquez later lining up his pass on Fernandez at the final corner as well.
