Moto3 Valencia FP3: Deniz Oncu leads combined timing
Deniz Oncu is the fastest rider heading into qualifying later today.
Moto3 returnee Deniz Oncu comes back to the lightweight class after missing two races due to expulsion after the COTA incident and goes straight to P1 heading into qualifying, the Turkish rider’s pace not faltering despite the lack of recent track time compared to his fellow riders, he led World Champion Pedro Acosta by 0.099 seconds, the pair split by the tiny margin ahead of replacement rider Joel Kelso. Kelso is making his fourth world championship appearance and is proving exactly why he has two FIM CEV Moto3 victories and a world championship seat with CIP for next year, super promising talent.
Andrea Migno was the first Honda to come home and secure himself a Q2 spot ahead of Carlos Tatay who is making a fairly rare appearance in Q2 this year after failing to consistently arrive in the top 14, he led Dennis Foggia and Izan Guevara, the pair tied down with identical lap times ahead of Stefano Nepa and Darryn Binder who has failed to improve since Friday but secured the Q2 promotion thanks to his lap time in FP1.
Tatsuki Suzuki has rounded out the top 10 ahead of Romano Fenati, Filip Salac, John McPhee and Jeremy Alcoba who round out the Q2 spots meaning Niccolo Antonelli, Ayumu Sasaki, Sergio Garcia and Jaume Masia will be forced to go via Q1.
