MotoGP Emilia Romagna FP3: Johann Zarco leads Pramac 1-2
Johann Zarco leads the way into qualifying as the title contenders miss Q2.
Johann Zarco was the quickest rider overall leading into qualifying as 0.087 seconds split he and his teammate Jorge Martin topped the session in a 1-2 for the Pramac boys. We got a Ducati 1-2-3 with Jack Miller sat in third place, Miller has been strong all weekend topping the sessions overall in the combined sessions on Friday after FP1 and FP2, carrying that momentum over into today’s FP3 session. Could we see the Ducati man battle for pole position later today?
Miguel Oliveira is having a strong weekend so far with a P4 overall heading into qualifying after securing a Q2 spot, the Portuguese rider feeling at home in the wet conditions at Misano leading Marc Marquez who is another rider who is having a strong weekend, Marquez is benefitting from the wet weather which stops he and everyone else from pushing as hard allowing him to rest his shoulder and save some energy, his teammate Pol Espargaro joined him in P6.
Franco Morbidelli is another injured rider benefitting from the rain, all weekend long Frankie has relaxed and taken consistent top 10 finishes in the sessions with a Q2 spot to his name after a late lap time in FP3 pushed him up the order leading Aleix Espargaro and Danilo Petrucci.
Rounding out the top 10 is Luca Marini, a beast in wet conditions as he has already proven, he gets himself a Q2 spot knocking out the title contender Francesco Bagnaia to P11 forcing some strong names to come via Q1 including Joan Mir, Fabio Quartararo who failed to make Q2 for the first time in 2021 and Alex Rins.
