Moto3 Misano FP3: Andrea Migno leads into qualifying
Andrea Migno was the fastest Moto3 rider heading into qualifying.
Andrea Migno was the fastest rider in FP3 after a battle to get into the Q2 session later today and not have to work harder to qualify via Q1. This time around we have seen both Pedro Acosta and Sergio Garcia make their way into a direct Q2 spot after their recent qualifying struggles, this enables them to be able to fight right from the get-go provided they can start from the top 10, given that they’re in the top 5 there’s no doubt they’ll be up there to fight for the top positions.
All weekend long we’ve seen the Italians lead the fore and FP3 was no different with Migno in P1 Foggia in P2, Antonelli in P4 and Fenati in P7, not the most surprising thing in the world given that we are at Misano and most of these riders have spent time with the VR46 Riders Academy.
Rookies Izan Guevara and Xavier Artigas made their way into the top 10 gaining Q2 spots, both riders battled for the lead last time in Aragon and this newfound speed is transferring to Italian soil, both will be eying up the podium very shortly.
Rounding out the Q2 spots were Stefano Nepa, wildcard Elia Bartolini, Ayumu Sasaki and Kaito Toba with VR46 recruit Matteo Bertelle missing the Q2 spot by 0.003 seconds!
Some riders who will have to make their way via Q1 are Riccardo Rossi, John McPhee, Deniz Oncu, Jeremy Alcoba and Lorenzo Fellon.
Alberto Surra suffered a very big crash and our thoughts are with him, he has been confirmed as being conscious.
