Moto3 Silverstone FP2: Romano Fenati sets new lap record

Romano Fenati went fastest again in FP2 to set a new lap record.

Romano Fenati, Ayumu Sasaki and Niccolo Antonelli have all broken the previous lap record of 2:11.631 at the Silverstone circuit set by Tony Arbolino in 2019 to lead their way in the FP2 session in Great Britain, the temperature has improved a little from this morning’s 13°C air temperature to a slightly warmer 16°C enabling the times to go much quicker under the previous record, just imagine what the times will be when the weather around 20°C! We could see a 2:10 lap time!

Riccardo Rossi went fourth fastest in FP2 only 0.384 seconds from the leader, the Italian making strong progress at Silverstone finishing FP1 and FP2 within the top 10 positions ahead of Dennis Foggia. Darryn Binder led Deniz Oncu in P6 and P7 with Lorenzo Fellon making an appearance in the top 10, the Frenchman aiming to score his first World Championship points this weekend, he’s come unbelievably close many times getting stronger and stronger every round.

In ninth place we saw Pedro Acosta leading Gabriel Rodrigo, Acosta is yet to see Silverstone but is continuing to be impressive and strong wherever he goes.

Further down the order we saw Izan Guevara and Stefano Nepa in the Q2 positions with John McPhee, Sergio Garcia, Andrea Migno, and Filip Salac all sat in Q1 places for the time being.
