WorldSBK Most FP1: Toprak Razgatlioglu leads FP1 at a new track

Toprak Razgatlioglu once again leads an FP1 session as WorldSBK travels to Most.

Toprak Razgatlioglu was the fastest man in the FP1 session at Most as the WorldSBK riders ‘Czech’ out the new circuit. The lap times were very split apart as riders adjust and get used to the new scenery and tarmac with Toprak a massive 0.600 seconds over Alex Lowes in second place, the Kawasaki man performing well in the opening session of the weekend ahead of Scott Redding.

In fourth place we have a welcome surprise in the name of Marvin Fritz, the German rider is a wildcard for this weekend with the YART World Endurance team with his teammate Karel Hanika also getting a look in down in a strong P9, it’s certainly unexpected but shows the team are incredibly strong and competitive.

Last time out podium finisher Andrea Locatelli finished in P5, the Italian is really impressing this year as a rookie in the Superbike class taking a debut podium in Assen for the factory Yamaha team, he was 0.839 seconds from the leader and only 0.001 second ahead of title leader Jonathan Rea. Rea is leading the standings by 37 points making life very difficult for Razgatlioglu’s title charge.

Tom Sykes finished in seventh place ahead of Alvaro Bautista who had a disaster in Assen crashing out of two of the three races, Garrett Gerloff rounded off the top 10 ahead of Michael van der Mark.
