Moto2 Styria FP2: Remy Gardner heads FP2 in Austria
Remy Gardner leads the way in the Moto2 FP2 session.
Remy Gardner was the quickest rider in the Moto2 FP2 session, the title leader showing absolutely zero signs of slowing down as we go circuit to circuit with the Australian rider impressing everywhere he goes, the title leader beating Sam Lowes to P1 by a mere 0.107 seconds as the wet weather causes the Moto2 boys to slow down meaning Marco Bezzecchi is able to hold on to his lead as the combined fastest rider.
Two riders have sprung up the timesheets this weekend namely Thomas Luthi and Lorenzo Dalla Porta, Luthi struggling a lot this year especially with the death of his prodigy and compatriot Jason Dupasquier at Mugello. Thankfully for Luthi he has been able to ride with Jason in his heart and push his way up the timesheets today finishing in P3 in the FP2 session and P6 in the combined sessions.
Lorenzo Dalla Porta secured a P5 finish earlier today before leading most of the FP2 session, eventually taking home a very strong P4, he is seriously improving every session and has the possibility for a strong result this weekend.
Augusto Fernandez was the fifth fastest rider in the session leading rookie Celestino Vietti, the Italian making some good progress this weekend at a track he won at last year in the Moto3 class, the pair lead Xavi Vierge and Tony Arbolino with Marcos Ramirez rounding off the top 10.
Raul Fernandez is not doing as well as we’d expect however remains in a provisional Q2 spot with a lap time worthy of P11 in the FP2 session.
