Remy Gardner takes pole position in Portimao as the title fighters step up with 3 of the 4 will start in the top 5 tomorrow, Luca Marini is the fastest title fighter of the lot starting in P2, just 0.118 from P1, he starts a trail of a trio of Italians with Fabio Di Giannantonio who has led multiple races in 2020, crashing out of P1 multiple times.
Enea Bastianini was the next title fighter in P4, heading the second row, putting in the time worthy of P4 in the last moments of the session, he starts ahead of the heroic Sam Lowes who is clearly struggling with excruciating pain in his hand, saying that he can feel the broken bones moving in his hand, it is clearly having an effect on him and consuming his whole body and sapping his energy, but he keeps going, even taking the fastest time in the session at one point before being pushed down to P5, an outstanding result.
Jorge Martin is the sixth-placed rider and the final rider on the second row, just behind him is Nicolo Bulega in P7, heading row 3 ahead of Augusto Fernandez and fast rookie Marcos Ramirez with another fast rookie Hector Garzo in P11.
Tetsuta Nagashima was the 10th fastest rider, just 0.401 from P1.
