MotoGP Valencia: Morbidelli tops FP3 as Mir locks in Q2
Franco Morbidelli blitzed the field in MotoGP FP3 today, leading the session by 0.500 as Mir gets into Q2.
Franco Morbidelli destroys the MotoGP field, lapping 0.5 seconds faster than the field to top the session as Joan Mir muscles his way into the Q2 session in qualifying.
Morbidelli was able to beat Pol Espargaro in second place by a huge 0.5 seconds, Espargaro has been fast all weekend following his podium last weekend, he is eyeing victory at the Valencian circuit where he has historically done well at. Johann Zarco has forced his way into the top 3 of the session, putting in some impressive performances on the Ducati GP19.
Maverick Vinales was the fourth fastest rider ahead of Joan Mir who was sat way outside of the top 10 in the final laps of the session before he smashed in a lap time worthy of P5, beating Takaaki Nakagami by just 0.051 who has eyes on the podium.
Miguel Oliveira took up the seventh spot ahead of Aleix Espargaro on the Aprilia, the pair lead Fabio Quartararo in P9, his overall time was not good enough to get him into Q2, therefore he will join Alex Rins in Q1, adding some difficulty to his title challenge.
Danilo Petrucci rounded off the top 10, just 0.788 from P1.
