Moto2/3 Teruel: Augusto Fernandez and Jaume Masia lead the way in FP1

Augusto Fernandez and Jaume Masia were the fastest men in FP1.

It was a Marc VDS 1-2 in Moto2 as Augusto Fernandez and Sam Lowes lead the session by a margin of at least 0.1 to P3 man Fabio Di Giannantonio who is improving greatly on the Speed Up as the season progresses, crashing out of P1 last time out.

Jake Dixon who is making major leaps and bounds this season finishes the session in P4 and hopes to take to the podium following his best result of P4 last time out, he leads Joe Roberts for P5.

Lorenzo Baldassarri, a rider who we’ve barely seen all season aside from Qatar takes the P6 spot ahead of Marco Bezzecchi who found himself leading the title last weekend before a crash.

Jorge Navarro was the P8 man, lucky to not get run over after crashing at T2 last time out.

Remy Gardner took the ninth spot ahead of Luca Marini in P10, 0.724 from P1.

Last time race winner Jaume Masia who won at the same track carried over his form to the Teruel track, leading the session ahead of the Husqvarna of Romano Fenati with the top 4 headed by Austrian based machines.

In third and fourth place were Deniz Oncu and Moto3 title leader Albert Arenas, who was a massive 0.443 from P1 in only P4.

After missing the first GP as a precaution due to someone on his flight testing positive for COVID-19, Tony Arbolino didn’t waste any time taking P5 on his return ahead of John McPhee.

Jeremy Alcoba was the seventh fastest man ahead of title contender Celestino Vietti.

Gabriel Rodrigo and Tatsuki Suzuki rounded off the top 10, 0.849 from P1.
