MotoGP Austria: Sam Lowes and John McPhee take the top step in this afternoon’s FP2 session
It is a British affair in Austria as Sam Lowes and Petronas SRT Moto3 rider John McPhee are the fastest riders this afternoon in Austria.
The Moto2 session followed a very tricky MotoGP session and Sam Lowes did not dissapoint leading the session by 0.010 over Jorge Martin. It was fellow British rider Jake Dixon who took P3, 0.222 from Lowes followed by Augusto Fernandez then Joe Roberts in P5.
Dixon’s teammate Xavi Vierge was sixth fastest making it two Petronas Moto2 bikes in the top 10 for the first time. Jorge Navarro followed Vierge with Schrotter improving his placement from his P20 in FP1 to finish P8 in FP2.
Two time winner Enea Bastianini is looking to do the triple and finishes the session in ninth with Aron Canet capping off the top 10 0.674 behind P1.

John McPhee was the fastest Moto3 rider this afternoon, beating Gabriel Rodrigo by a mere 0.019 with Jaume Masia in third following closely just 0.063 off of P1.
Brno winner and teammate to Masia, Dennis Foggia finished the session in fourth with the fastest man in FP1, Tony Arbolino taking fifth.
Raul Fernandez once again is a top 10 finisher just ahead of Celestino Vietti in seventh with Andalucia winner Tatsuki Suzuki closely following the pair.
The top 10 is rounded off by title leader Albert Arenas in ninth and Niccolo Antonelli in 10th, 0.676 from first place.
