MotoGP Austria: Pol Espargaro sets the pace in FP1
It was a rocket start for Pol Espargaro and KTM in this mornings FP1 session starting off the weekend.
The Austrian GP is looking to be a good one this weekend with the field more even than it has ever been, Pol Espargaro is out for blood following his Brno misfortune, taking P1 in FP1 keeping the Brno winning machine on top.
Andrea Dovizioso is looking to make up some ground in the championship following his dissapointing P11 at Brno, he finished the session in P2, just 0.044 behind Pol Espargaro, ironic given Pol’s race number.
Takaaki Nakagami and Alex Rins were next up with Rins back to form following his injury at Jerez.
Brno podium finishers Franco Morbidelli and Johann Zarco stay firmly on the pace in P5 and P6, looking to get back-to-back podiums in Austria.
Miguel Oliveira got a career best sixth place last time out in Brno and takes P7 overall in the FP1 session ahead of Jack Miller.
2019 rookies Joan Mir and Fabio Quartararo with Frenchman Fabio rounding out the top 10, 0.560 from Espargaro.
