MotoGP Jerez FP1: Brad Binder steals P1 in the last moments

Brad Binder stopped Aprilia’s glory in the last moments of FP1.

Brad Binder ruined the Aprilia glory and took it all to himself in style, Brad Binder took the top spot in MotoGP FP1 by 0.191 after we had already jumped the gun and prepared a write up on Aleix Espargaro taking the top spot. MotoGP once again proving it’s not over until the fat lady sings! Binder is known to be fast around Jerez taking his first win here back in 2016 and there’s no doubt he will impress again this weekend already showing good signs of improvement after KTM’s struggles so far this year.

Aleix Espargaro hoped to take all the glory but it wasn’t to be, he led most of the session but was let down at the end, but P2 is not something to be sad about with Aprilia looking strong, Espargaro heads Marc Marquez who returns to the scene of the crime where he was injured last year, is a podium on the cards this time? We will see.

Ducati man Francesco Bagnaia was the fourth-placed rider behind title rival Fabio Quartararo who aims to take his third successive win this weekend on Spanish soil after doing the double here last year. His compatriot Johann Zarco was just behind in P6.

Miguel Oliveira has also struggled a lot this year with the KTM, even crashing out of his home race in Portimao, not the season start he expected at all, he beat his rival Pol Espargaro by a mere 0.035 to P7 with Maverick Vinales and Joan Mir capping off the top 10.

Wildcard Stefan Bradl finished in P15 as Valentino Rossi’s woes continued in P20.
