Moto3 Misano FP1: Dennis Foggia leads Italian quartet
Dennis Foggia was the fastest rider in the Moto3 FP1 session.
Last time race winner Dennis Foggia was the fastest rider in the Moto3 FP1 session taking a 0.370 lead over second fastest rider Romano Fenati, for Foggia his dreams came true at Aragon as both his title rivals Pedro Acosta and Sergio Garcia crashed out of the race (unharmed) with Romano Fenati scoring just two points after taking a trip to the gravel to avoid a crasher, Foggia was able to take the win and gain a huge 25 points on the title leaders to slingshot him right back into contention. With five races to go and Foggia in spectacular form, we better watch out.
Romano Fenati was second fastest ahead of fellow Italians Niccolo Antonelli and Andrea Migno, it’s almost as if they train here and know the circuit like the backs of their hands eh? We can expect some special helmet designs from the Italians over the weekend ahead. Deniz Oncu is chasing his first win and is competitive wherever he goes, it doesn’t matter the track Oncu will be fast with a P2 last time out in Aragon etching closer and closer to his first win.
Tatsuki Suzuki finished up in P6, he has previously won here and knows what he is going and we can expect him to be strong along with Izan Guevara who has finished in P4 in Silverstone and Aragon, desperately chasing his first podium finish.
Rounding out the top 10 were Jaume Masia, Xavier Artigas and Gabriel Rodrigo, the trio lapping just over a second slower than Foggia in first place.
In P16 we see Matteo Bertelle who is making his Moto3 World Championship debut after impressing in the Red Bull Rookie and CIV Italian Moto3 Championship, he will be riding for the Bardahl VR46 Team with Elia Bartolini.
