MotoGP: Francesco Bagnaia: “I know nothing about Ducati move”
Francesco Bagnaia is currently hot property in MotoGP and has signed with Ducati for 2021 and 2022, but the team he does not know.
Francesco Bagnaia is currently having one of the best MotoGP seasons he could’ve asked for, despite saying he has no luck. Bagnaia suffered a DNF in podium contention at Andalucia following a mechanical fault, then broke his leg at Brno, yet despite this, scored his first MotoGP podium on his return and led the race the week after before crashing out of the lead.
Currently, there is a seat available at the factory Ducati team for 2021 next to Jack Miller with Bagnaia in a battle with Johann Zarco for this season, Ducati confirmed before the Misano races that they will use these two races to decide the 2021 rider. In these two races, Bagnaia has scored a P2, then a DNF out of P1 whilst Zarco has scored a P14 then a P11, Bagnaia being the clear favourite.
We are expecting a Ducati annoucement at Catalunya about their 2021 rider, however, Bagnaia has confirmed he has no idea if he has the ride, saying Ducati have not even spoken to him yet, “I hope that I will be the name that they say because I know nothing, they haven’t said anything to me so I will wait, let’s wait for Barcelona and see if they will say anything,” said the rider to MotoGP.com.
It is more than likely that we will see Bagnaia in red next year, but with Bagnaia not even knowing, it adds to the speculation.
